The little gizmo in mention acts as a slave,(no, keep your fevered imagination in check!). No pesky cables of course,& range is only limited by that of the primary flashgun.

Got you - triggers when the on-camera flash goes *phut*, and adds it's own light into the equation. Simple now I can see how it's done. The ringflash is currently on hold while I track down the diffuser material, so I'll see what I can turn out
