I recently bought a decent-looking FT QL for a very small sum and find, on putting a Wein Cell battery in, that the meter needle seems to vary with film-speed and with shutter-speed, but not with Aperture: any hints/tips would be appreciated.

The FT meters only in the stop-down mode: changing the aperture setting with the lens open will not communicate the setting to the meter.

Thanks,Rick: I was actually trying it in 'M' setting, but had assumed the switch under the left thumb was a meter 'on' switch, not a 'Battery check! I'll try it again in daylight.

Need battery for my old Canon FTQL.  Do not have original battery from which to get number.  Do you know what type of battery is used in this camera?
