I have found a busted Pentax LX on ebay. The owner says that the  shutter is released a few moments after presing the shutter button (less than a second). Seems to me that it has to do with the self timer mechanism.
Ideas?
Thanks,
Ben

possibly.  or maybe a sticky release magnet?  i'm not familiar with the specific design of the LX shutter; it was a mechanical/electronic hybrid, don't know how the mechanisms worked that out

It is a known phenomenon that LX's mirror rest will become sticky with age, hence will delay shutter firing.

So, is the camera worth 80-100 euro sw (i.e. 100-130 US dollars)? Is the gaskets/seals replacemets feasible with the hobbyst knowledge?
Thanks,
