Hello all,
I bought a broken MTL-3 so I could practice dismantling it before attempting to repair my main one which I've had for over 25 years.

Assuming you have removed the black disc, the tiny circlip and the shim (like the first picture in the article), the screw is the part with 2 holes in it.
 
If you are lucky, you may be able to unscrew it with a rubber friction tool of some kin

As a substitute for a pin wrench, get yourself a pair of draftsmans dividers. The type you want have removable points, these are made from hardened steel pins. Either reverse the points or grind down the sharp points until the pins fit snuggly into th

Thanks a lot Glenn, I'll look out for some of those.
 
Actually, I have one of those tools for removing 'e-clips' and the like. Maybe I could grind those down a bit.
