My camera's zoom lens won't fully tuck in when i try to turn off the unit, and it prevents me from closing the encasing. Any attempts to use the camera triggers an error message, in addition to displaying a poorly focused image on the LCD panel.

It sounds as if someone dropped the camera on its lens. But it's not quite what is meant by a classic camera, which is what this forum is concerned with.  You might try the Sony/Konica/Minolta forum at www.photo
