FT QL and Aperture setting on lens

Howdy.  I acquired a Canon FT QL body and I note that the meter does not react when turning the aperture ring on the lens but does react to turn the shutter dial on camera.  Any ideas?  I can't find any info on this.  Thanks in advance for your input. I

The Canon FT meters only in the stop down mode: when changing apertures the meter will react only if the lens diaphragm is physically closing down (the viewfinder screen darkens as this happens).  The meter actuating switch of the FT should accomplish thi

Ah, very good.  I understand now. Very interesting...well, to a newbie I guess.  lol. This will take some getting used to.
